The twentieth century has catapulted man into a space age in which there is a lot to know and much being taught. But man’s data does not afford actual satisfaction.
The place else than in the Holy Scriptures can man discover such data and wisdom? The Bible declares that all the treasures of wisdom and data are vested in God and Christ: “That their hearts may be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ: in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:2, 3).
In some unregenerate circles the Bible just isn’t acknowledged because the gateway to knowledge. Some Realtor Toronto characterize buyers solely and are often known as Unique Buyer Brokers (EBAs). And searching again through the annals of history far again to apostolic occasions, we see countless numbers of humble men and women who attained great stature and wisdom through God’s Word. Regardless of some erudite arguments on the contrary, the lads who overturned the first century world have been, for probably the most part, unschooled, plain people whose glory was in the Scriptures. “Now when they noticed the boldness and unfettered eloquence of Peter and John, and perceived that they have been unlearned and untrained in the colleges — common males with no benefits — they marveled; they usually acknowledged that they had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:thirteen ANT).
When the Christian counselor turns to the Bible, he provides unparalleled mild to the counselee. “The entrance of Thy phrases giveth mild; it giveth understanding to the straightforward” (Psalm 119: 130). This is not a flashlight beam into Monday morning blues or a ray through the black outlook of domestic and world affairs. It is the glorious sunburst of divine help from the One who mentioned of Himself, ”I’m the sunshine of the world” (Matthew 5:14).
Really this is knowledge.
